Privacy Policy
Effective 26 September 2026 · Version 1
Odo is a bike maintenance app made by Raghul Ragavan Pandiarajan ("we", "us"). This policy explains what Odo does with your information. The short version: your data stays on your iPhone and in your own iCloud. We run no server, we cannot see your data, and we do not track you.
What Odo uses, and why
- Cycling workouts from Apple Health. With your permission, Odo reads cycling workouts your iPhone or watch already recorded (date, distance, duration, whether it was indoors) so it can add up how far each bike and each part has been ridden. Odo never writes to Health except in developer test builds, and never shares Health data with anyone. Health data is used only for the app's features, never for advertising, marketing or analytics, and is never sold.
- Ride files you import. If you import a CSV, GPX or TCX file, Odo reads the ride dates, distances and durations from it. The file itself is not kept.
- Bikes, parts, service notes and rules you enter. Everything you type into Odo.
- Bike photos. If you photograph a bike or pick one from your library, Odo keeps the photo and the drawing it makes from it. Photos are processed on your phone; no photo is uploaded to us. Like everything else in your garage, a copy goes to your own private iCloud database if iCloud is on.
- Sign in with Apple (optional). If you sign in, Apple gives Odo a stable user identifier and, the first time only, the name and email you choose to share. Odo uses these to show your name and to recognise you on another iPhone. You can use every part of Odo without signing in.
- Profile photo (optional). A picture you pick for the garage header. Apple does not provide one.
Where it is kept
- On your iPhone. All of the above lives in Odo's private storage on your device.
- In your iCloud. If your iPhone is signed in to iCloud, Odo keeps a copy in the private CloudKit database attached to your Apple ID so the same garage appears on your other iPhones. That database belongs to you, is covered by Apple's iCloud terms, and is not readable by us or by anyone else. If iCloud is off, Odo works fully on the phone alone.
What we do not do
- We operate no servers of our own and receive no copy of your data.
- We use no analytics, advertising or tracking software, and no third-party SDKs that collect data.
- We do not sell, rent or share your information.
- We do not collect your location. A GPX file carries a location trace; Odo reads the coordinates only to measure the ride's distance, keeps none of them, and stores only the distance and time.
Purchases
Unlocking unlimited bikes is a one-time purchase handled entirely by the App Store. Apple processes the payment; we receive no payment details.
Notifications
Odo can send two kinds of local notification: a summary after a ride and a heads-up when a part is due. They are generated on your phone. You can turn them off in Odo's settings or in iOS Settings at any time.
Your choices and your rights
- Health access can be changed at any time in iOS Settings › Health › Data Access & Devices › Odo.
- Sign out from Odo › Settings › Account. Signing out removes nothing from your garage.
- Stop using your Apple ID with Odo in iOS Settings › your name › Sign in with Apple.
- Delete your account data (name, email, photo, Apple identifier) at any time from Odo › Settings › Account › Delete account data. Your bikes and rides are unaffected.
- Delete everything by deleting the app from every iPhone and, if you use iCloud, removing Odo's data under iOS Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Account Storage. You can also export a full backup as a JSON file from Odo › Settings › Data at any time.
- Because we hold no copy of your data, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete on your behalf; the controls above are complete.
Children
Odo is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, Odo will show the new version and ask you to accept it before continuing. The version number and date at the top tell you which one you accepted.
